Our carefully crafted courses cover a wide range of areas from helping you, your partner and even your domestic helper build your confidence with courses ranging from child care and emergency response, to antenatal classes as well as Paediatric First Aid & CPR courses.

We have regular courses running, but if the dates don't work for you get in touch and we can tailor a solution for you.

Child Care, Paediatric First Aid & CPR for Domestic Helpers

HKD1,900 per person

Did you know choking is the leading cause of death for babies under 1 year?

Did you know the most common location for injury of children 4 years and younger is the home?

This rigorous and interactive course is set over two, six-hour sessions. The first session focusses on child care including areas such as:

  • Successful employer / employee communication.

  • Choking hazards.

  • Hazard identification and risk control measures.

  • The principles of home safety.

  • SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).

  • Feeding and weaning.

  • Educational play and stimulation.

The second session covers our popular Paediatric First Aid & CPR course, the details of which can be read below.

Baby Cuddles

Paediatric First Aid & CPR

HKD980 per person

This popular course is run as scheduled classes but also can be booked as private group classes (minimum six participants).

These four-hour classes are run to prepare parents for dealing with emergencies. The classes include:

  • Teaching on home safety and accident prevention.

  • What to do in an emergency.

  • Victim assessment.

  • CPR, choking, shock, including anaphylactic shock.

  • Bleeding, burns, head injuries, serious injuries, poisoning, heat and cold emergencies.

  • General care of the sick baby or child.

Dr. Michelle Ng, who teaches the course draws upon her medical and child-care experience to deliver a rigorous and structured course to empower you with confidence for your life ahead.

Fast-track Antenatal Classes

HKD1,480 per couple

A fast-track group course comprising of three, two-hour classes offers you the opportunity to ask questions you might have about the ante and post-natal days as well as covering the following:

  • When to go to hospital

  • Normal delivery

  • Pain management options

  • Assisted delivery, Cesarean section

  • Building a bond with your baby

  • Prevention of SIDS

  • Post-natal depression

Private Antenatal Classes

HKD1,300 per hour (minimum 2 hours for home tuition)

These classes are tailored to meet specific or unique requirements of expectant parents or to help those who are not able to attend one of The Family Zone’s Fast Track Antenatal Classes. The private classes are usually delivered to couples in your home although alternative arrangements can be made, such as us hosting it or providing some tuition online. Private Antenatal Classes can also be combined, as needed, with Baby Basics.

Due to to COVID-19 restrictions, these sessions can be run virtually if you prefer.

Mother Breastfeeding Baby

Antenatal Breastfeeding Workshop

HKD580 per person

Recommended from 34 works gestation onwards, this work hour and a half workshop will help you prepare for and feel more confident about your breastfeeding or pumping journey.

During the session we will be covering areas such as:

  • How to start the process when you baby is born.

  • What different positions to adopt.

  • How to recognise a good latch.

  • Common concerns and worries.

  • Pumping options and how they work.

This workshop is ideally suited to those that have already done our Fast-track Antenatal course. 

Mothers and their Baby

Baby basics

HKD1,300 per hour (minimum 2 hours for home tuition)

These are private classes focussed on helping new parents learn basic baby care techniques for the first several months after birth. We arrange them at times that are mutually convenient in your home. The classes may cover whatever you like.

Most commonly covered topics are bathing, swaddling, sleep, settling the baby, feeding, sterilising and SIDS.

This is practical training which will provide demonstration and hands on practice of baby care. It will be especially beneficial for first time parents. This service is also suitable for adopters. The minimum time for these classes is 2 hours. Baby Basics can also be combined, as needed with Private Antenatal Classes.

Services purchased are not transferable to another person or to another service.

Consultations and courses must be booked and paid for in advance. 

Courses are non-refundable from two weeks before the start date of that course.
