Weaning to Solids & Choking Prevention
Sept 22nd: Learn how to introduce solids & prevent choking in this short workshop
Service Description
A quick 1 hour workshop teaching parents and caregivers how to approach weaning their babies to solids at 6 months and how to prevent choking. This is a great introduction to the world of weaning and for those who have not yet attended a First Aid and CPR class, it is an opportunity to learn choking prevention which is a vital skill that will provide confidence when the baby first starts their solids journey. We will cover: - What weaning is - Signs of readiness to eat - Baby Led Weaning vs Spoon feeding - Prepping the eating environment, highchair safety - Choking intervention protocol for 0-12 months using manikins. Parents and other caregivers welcome! The class is capped at 7 participants. We require a minimum of 3 participants to run the class. If we have fewer than that, don’t worry—alternative arrangements may be made. We will always keep you updated if there are any changes.
