WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US

M.W.
Postnatal visit

Whether you are a first-time or an experienced mom, every breastfeeding journey is different.

With my two eldest, I had oversupply and engorgement. This time with my third was the same. I contacted Michelle for help, and she immediately gave me advice. She always answered my questions with very detailed explanations and reassured me that everything would be ok!

The day she came to see me, she did her magic. I can’t thank her enough. Ever since, I’m more confident and both my newborn and I are happy breastfeeding.

I highly recommend Michelle for your lactation consult and more!

Nursing Newborn

About us

The Family Zone was established in 2005 by Yvonne Heavyside, a British-trained Lactation Consultant, Health Visitor and Community Nurse.

In the UK, health visitors visit all mums and babies at home once the mum leaves hospital. The health visitor is there to offer support and advice on breast feeding, care of the postnatal mother and of the newborn and to help deal with any family issues. The health visitor monitors the physical and mental development of the baby until the baby is 5 years old.

Our goal is to provide personalised and empowering support to families as they navigate their way through the early years.

Gemma Fisk

Certified Infant Sleep Consultant (The Sleep Nanny Academy – CPD Accredited)

Gemma works with children aged from newborn to 6 years old. She believes firmly in a holistic and gentle approach to help our children to sleep better through plenty of love, comfort and reassurance. Having experienced sleep deprivation herself as a mother, Gemma works with families with a lot of empathy.

Gemma describes helping and supporting families through such precious moments in their lives as a privilege and a huge passion of hers. She hopes to succeed in helping families understand that sleep does not need to be a ‘dreaded nightly battle’ but rather that it is the best gift we can give to ourselves as exhausted parents as well as to our children.

Gemma conducts all of her consults virtually as she is currently based in the UK, however if you would prefer face to face consultations, please contact us and we can make a referral.
