Service Description
Join Claire Ollier, a UK registered Health visitor, Perinatal Mental Health Nurse and IAIM Certified Baby Massage Instructor for a 5-week class on massage techniques and routines for you and your baby. Starting from Tues 24th February and running for 5 consecutive Tuesday mornings in Discovery Bay, you will learn a series of evidence-based techniques for massaging your baby through the renowned International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) programme. The course is for up to eight parent & baby pairs and each session lasts 90 minutes. Baby massage is a fantastic skill to learn that can help alleviate various common challenges that can arise in the early weeks and months of a newborn's life, such as colic, gas, constipation. It can also support their physical and cognitive development that will benefit them for a lifetime. Many babies find the gentle strokes soothing, which can also promote healthy sleep routines. Baby massage can • Strengthen the relationship between you and your baby • Positively impact the mood of the parent! • Promote infant sleep • Promote oxytocin (the feel good hormone in parent and child) • Provide relief from colic • May help digestive issues such like constipation
